Christians in America are under an immense attack; but there’s David

How do Christians react to the onslaught of the secular world that seeks to extinguish Christian ideals from the greatest country on earth? How can Christians in America and around the world react to the work of powerful organizations like the ACLU, the Obama Administration, the hundreds of progressive organizations, the leaders of the European Union, the U.N. and Hollywood? These groups all seek to remove Christianity from any role of public influence or societal improvement.

Abstinence programs in public schools have been eliminated and teen birth rates and venereal disease rates have recently hit historic highs. Movies glorifying every type of sin are the central focus of Hollywood. The UCLU wants every Christian to tremble with fear as they use judicial activism to eliminate Christianity from American culture and also revise history in textbooks and public education.

The European Union is ushering in Islam as the official religion of European countries and progressive organizations take every opportunity to paint Christians as intolerant haters.

The reaction of Christians is important at this historical moment. The instructions for that reaction can be found in the book of Samuel. It can be found in the famous story of David and Goliath.

David was a small sheppard boy, not trained as a warrior and he was facing a 9-foot giant trained in battle and warfare and killing. There is more than a coincidental analogy between the state of Christians in America today, an oppressed minority, and the powerful forces aligned against them.

David enjoyed the blessing of God.

The Philistine Goliath was a confident warrior who could not imagine defeat. Christians need to remember this important verse from the book of 1 Samuel that tells us how the small sheppard boy approached a battle that seemed to be an impossible task for him. They must remember that David did not imagine that he would lose………it never crossed his mind.

‘As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him.’

This one verse from the Bible may be the loudest message, the most profound message that Christians need to hear. This single verse is a message to Christians that they must rush in the direction of the giant.
