Live Breathe and Die

There are millions of Americans supporting Barack Obama for the presidency. They like his repetitive promise of change, they enjoy his oratory and they buy into his platform. Some may even be swayed by this Arab/African/Caucasian inheritance. His promise to change American politics, Washington and traditional America have reverberated through newspapers, television programs, magazines, radio and the blogosphere from coast to coast.

I am here, at this moment, to tell you why Barack Obama should never be sitting in the Oval Office. I may use some arguments you have heard, but I also may tell you some things you did not know. You may be voting for him because you like his rhetoric or you may be voting for him because you like his message. Whatever the reason, you owe it to yourself, and millions of other Americans to consider this information.

Some of the early doubts people who love this country had about Obama began with his reluctance to place his hand over his heart during the National Anthem. (here)  Others questioned his objection to wearing the American flag on his lapel. These early issues occurred during the primaries and only aroused the attention of those who believe a candidate for president should display some love of country.

In Obama’s rambling book, Dreams From My father, he never mentions a love of country or even a hint of an appreciation of the United States. But, he wants to be president of the United States?

You might not care if a candidate for president refuses some traditional, symbolic displays of patriotism.  You may even prefer Obama for this very reason. Even if these acts go to the very core of Barack Obama, you may not be swayed from voting for him.

If you originally supported Sen. Clinton as the Democratic nominee, you may have been bothered by Sen. Obama’s actions and snub of rival Hillary, when he refused to shake her outreached hand. (here)  Although that may speak to character; even that won’t bother some people.

Does it bother you that Senator Obama has refused to turn over most records that presidential candidates normally make available for the sake of transparency? Obama has provided only one page of his medical record. He has not been willing to turn over his academic records or his state bar application. These records traditionally have given us a glimpse, as voters, of the candidate’s history and views. His opponent turned over 1200 pages of medical records, by the way.

In the seventies, there was a group called the Weather Underground that believed America was the enemy. They were responsible for bombings and even murder and for all intents and purposes, were a terrorist organization by every definition. One of their leaders was a guy named William Ayers. Mr. Ayers and his wife were both involved in illegal acts to do property damage and bodily harm. Maybe this doesn’t bother you.

For the last twenty years, Barack Obama has been friends with Mr. Ayers. He even considers him a mentor. His wife and Mr. Ayers wife are friends and former colleagues. The Obama campaign tries to rewrite history to convince voters that they just happened to serve on the same board together, but the evidence is of a close, long-term friendship. Mr. Ayers and his wife have said that they would commit even more mayhem if they could do it all again (here).

I realize that I may be naive. There may be millions of Americans who are voting for Barack Obama for exactly the reasons I have mentioned as concerns. Maybe you agree that the U.S. is a bad place. Maybe you think that people like William Ayers are cool. You might think the snub of Sen. Clinton was just fine. You might even think that wearing an American flag on a lapel is stupid and meaningless. There is still more about Sen. Obama you should know though.

Do you know about Barack’s cousin Raila Odinga? You might like the guy if you hate Christians, because he has slaughter hundreds, even thousands of them.(here) (here) As a member of a radical Muslim group, he has aligned himself with Al-Qaida. This is the cousin that Obama has visited several times in Kenya and who has also come to the U.S. for visits with Barack. This also brings up another document that Obama refuses to provide to journalists for examination; his passport.

Does it bother you that Barack Obama has a tax plan that is recited constantly by his supporters…….claiming that 95% of American workers will get a tax cut, yet only 68% of American workers pay taxes?  32% pay nothing. Does that mean that the Obama campaign sees legions of people out there in the electorate who don’t know common facts?  Does anyone care that Obama’s plan to repeal the Bush tax cuts means a very real tax burden on middle-class Americans? Do you care?

Do you happen to know what the popularity rating is for congress as reflected in the polls?  It’s 17%, far worse than the same rating for President Bush. Obviously, a lot of people are not happy with the members of congress. Many more people though, believe that there should be some balance between the president and the congress, in order to have a system of checks and balances. If Barack Obama is president, there will be no balance.  The mistakes made by congress will get a rubber stamp by Obama.

New information recently came to light that Barack Obama was a member of the Chicago New Party, a socialist political organization. (here)  The Obama campaign had feverishly attempted to erase any evidence of this fact in cyberspace, but archived pages from the groups web site provided strong evidence. What is important about this revelation? Anyone who feared that Obama’s beliefs and policies smacked of socialism now know that they were correct. If having a socialist president doesn’t bother you, then it won’t bother you to move a step closer to Europe and myriad problems.

Obama was the president of the Harvard Law Review, but never authored anything in the Review or any law review for that matter. (here) He has taken credit for writing Dreams From My Father, but the evidence suggests that the book was ghost-written. As a professional writer, I can attest to that being the most likely scenario. So, does that mean that Barack Obama has lied about authoring the book himself? Looks like it.

So, at this point, if you are an Obama supporter, you may still be shaking your head and mumbling to yourself that you are not swayed. After all, if he is a socialist, a friend of a mass murderer in Kenya, a friend of a domestic terrorist, a person who does not have a real sense of patriotism,  someone not willing to provide transparency, willing to snub a colleague and a person who will engage in questionable math to mislead, he may be just your kind of candidate for president of the United States.

If only those things alone were concerns that voters should have about Barack Obama. But it doesn’t end there. 

Barack Obama promised to use public financing in a written document and specifically said he would if John McCain did.  Obama then backed out when it became politically advantageous.  Can you trust someone who agrees in writing to something and then backs out? Does this portell anything about what he would do as president? Very likely.

Then there is ACORN, Obama’s former employer and an organization that he still has close ties too.  ACORN has been caught red-handed hundreds of times committing voter fraud. Some speculate that Obama trained those who engaged in the ACORN MO in the techniques still used today. Obama said at an ACORN rally late last year that ACORN will help shape the agenda of his administration. (here)

One of those subpoenaed by the Cuyahoga County Ohio Board of Elections in an ACORN voter fraud investigation this past month stated;  “You can tell them you’re registered as many times as you want – they do not care,”  Lateala Goins, 21, also stated;  “They will follow you to the buses, they will follow you home, it does not matter.”  This approach to registering voters calls into question Obama’s character again. This is an organization that he has had close ties with for more than 16 years.

Chicago has long been a town with a reputation for organized crime. Going back to Al Capone and leading up to corrupt politicians, the city has weathered enough to get a national reputation. One such modern day criminal is a guy named Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko.  Mr. Rezko was convicted on a number of felonies, including wire and mail fraud, money laundering and aiding and abetting bribery. Why has Tony Rezko and Barack Obama had a close relationship since Obama graduated from Harvard?

If you are not bothered by Sen. Obama’s associations, then maybe you will be troubled by the fact that his eligibility to be elected president is in question in the first place. A U.S. president has to be a citizen of the United States. There are very real concerns that Barack Obama was not born in Hawaii as he claims. Like most other documents that would tell us something definitively about his past, he has refused to provide his birth certificate. (the one he did provide has been ‘verified as a forgery by three independent document forensic experts’). (here)

Obama’s operatives in Kenya arrested and detained author Jerome Corsi this past week after he uncovered e-mails sent between Obama and Raila Odinga. Mr. Corsi was about to give a lecture on Obama’s direct involvement in the 2007 Presidential campaign of Odinga and the nearly $1 million that Obama raised for Odinga in Kenya, when armed military personnel from the government physically forced him into a vehicle for transport to an interrogation room.

Mr. Corsi was able to get a text message completed on his phone before the phone was taken away.  The text message may have saved him, since his fate appeared to be in doubt.  This is the kind of gestapo/communist tactics that an Obama administration will bring to Washington. Obama raised nearly a million dollars for Odinga in order to ‘trigger a class war.’   The Obama campaign stated publicly that Obama has only ever made one phone call to Odinga this past January, but phone records show almost daily conversations.  Lying seems to come easy to the Obama organization.

Obama makes much of his African-American ancestry and attempts to come across as a card-carrying member of the community. Truth is, his racial makeup is 50% white (mother, both sides), 43.25% Arabic (father, both sides), and 6.25% African (father, one side, 1 generation removed). In the U.S., the legal threshold that determines race is 12.5%. So if you’re black and you are voting for Obama because he is African-American, think again.  You’re voting for an Arab-Caucasian.

Rashid Khalidi formed an anti-Israel group in Chicago called the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), an offshoot of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. Mr. Khalidi’s wife Mona was the groups president. The Khalidi’s have been longtime friends of Barack and Michelle Obama, having had dinner together often up until 2003. Michelle Obama went to a wedding party for the Khalidi daughter just a few months ago. Obama, while director of the board of The Woods Fund of Chicago provided grants to his friend Khalidi’s PLO group twice.

In 2001, Obama provided a grant of $40,000 to AAAN and in 2002, a grant of $35,000. This is money supporting an anti-Israel, pro-PLO/Hamas organization. Khalidi, aware of his own controversial connections to terrorists, has denied any knowledge of the grants, although they are a matter of public record. 

If you are an Obama supporter, this is what I would ask you to consider with your greatest intellectual honesty. If any one of these issues were questions we were asking about a Republican candidate for president, you would be up in arms. It would be troubling to you because a person running for president should not be involved in lying, manipulation of facts, associations with felons or terrorists or voter fraud. Any single one of these issues would have you screaming at anyone who would listen that the Republican is not fit to serve in the highest office in the free world.

Why then, do you give Barack Obama a pass? Are any of these legitimate issues any less troubling because he is a Democrat? Do you really believe you are going to bury your head in the sand and lower the bar for a job that effects all Americans because you are determined to shoehorn this guy into the White House?

McCain has one questionable event in his life, many years ago, and he was contrite about it.  As a matter of fact, he went on a crusade to end corruption and lobbyist money and influence in Washington.  You know that is true, if you know your political history. So why would you be hellbent on getting the questionable guy into such a powerful position when the other guy is a proven commodity?  Why?
