Keith Ellison – a politician of questionable integrity
Any U.S. citizen can compare their president to Adolf Hitler. It’s one of the hard-won freedoms that we enjoy as Americans. Freedom of speech and freedom of expression are basic rights that every American takes for granted.
When we elect a local politician to go to Washington and represent our best interests, that person is held to a higher standard. After all, they are viewed as a professional representative of their constituents and above the fray. They are expected to be ‘respectable’, diplomatic and worthy of the title; congress person or senator.
Enter Keith Ellison, the first Muslim member of the house and a liberal democrat from the state of Minnesota. Mr. Ellison apparently likes the taste of leather, because he spends a lot of time with his foot in his mouth. He has proven that he knows how to be a politician, but the concept of professionalism has eluded him. Mr. Ellison recently compared a sitting U.S. president to Hitler, a sure sign that Mr. Ellison skipped history classes in favor of his law classes.
As if comparing an American president to Adolf Hitler was already over the top, Mr. Ellison did not stop there. He suggested that the Bush administration was party to the 9/11 mass murder along with the terrorists. You would expect this from the fringe left, who are experts at making baseless claims, but you would expect more from a U.S. congressman.
Ellison, an attorney, has a questionable past. He has supported Louis Farrakhan and the The Nation of Islam. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with supporting fellow Muslims in the U.S. but Farrakhan is another story.
Farrakhan, as you might remember has made disturbing remarks about Jews and traveled overseas to meet with enemies of the U.S. His affiliation with terrorist organizations is unknown, but he has close ties to radical Islam. Ellison has also supported a convicted murderer and been involved in other similar nefarious activities.
Before members were seated for the 110th Congress, Ellison refused to put his hand on the Bible during the official, traditional swearing-in photograph. He insisted, instead, that he place his hand on the Quran for the picture. The fact that the United States is a Christian nation, and our forefathers quoted the Bible when writing our founding documents is something inconsequential to Mr. Ellison, who has little regard for our nation’s history.
Mr Ellison has been a vocal supporter of several cop killers as well as several African-Americans who have espoused anti-Semitic rhetoric. If not for the far-left leaning district he represents, he would not have found his way to the United States congress. And now this extremist finds it plausible to compare an American president to someone who killed millions of innocent people. Adolf Hitler not only killed millions of Jews, but he ordered his bombers to bomb civilian targets in England, without mercy, for months on end. Many children were killed as they slept at night.
Keith Ellison represents himself as a person of faith, but votes to kill babies for stem cells and speaks before groups that deny God. This is a disturbing pattern that begs the question; can you trust a person who engages in such hypocrisy?
The extreme left is a threat to the future of this country. They are unhinged. They base their world view on the anecdotal evidence of other extremists. They rarely rely on factual information and rarely care to hear facts. They are mired in conspiracy theories, covert operation rumors and visions of conservative pocket-lining schemes. While our economy charges ahead with record market levels, low unemployment rates and new innovation, the left instead writes of doom and gloom. They are out of touch.
Ellison is part of this out of touch segment of the U.S. population. Somehow, he sits in the House of Representatives making law in this country. He has recently co-sponsored a bill to impeach Vice-President Cheney. To date, there is no evidence that suggests that the VP has done anything wrong. Mr. Ellison wastes our time to appease the kook fringe left. He mocks the importance of the business done in Washington and he jeopardizes the future of the United States with such antics.
We need committed, moderate professionals in Washington. We need those in Washington to be committed to real issues that impact the future of America. We don’t need extremists with their own agendas and the agendas of extremist groups taking up seats where people make laws. Comparing a sitting U.S. President to Adolf Hitler is irresponsible at best and treasonous at worst.
All this from a person who has had his license suspended for not paying tickets, had IRS liens because he didn’t pay his taxes and who has been investigated for campaign finance violations. This is the best the left can send to Washington? Perhaps, Mr. Ellison, you need to look in the mirror and evaluate what you have achieved for your fellow Americans before you shout down someone who actually has.
