Democrats deception
Everything the Democratic leadership does is borne of political strategy. They don’t care about funding the troops.
This is the party that wants to boot military recruiters from schools everywhere. They loathe the military. But the Dems knew, going into the Iraq funding bill, that the President would veto the final bill. This is only the President’s second veto, by the way and he has been very cooperative with the Democrats.
The Democrats have already sat down and devised a strategy to use this as a political football. Everything is done for the ’08 election and all else is folly. The Democratic leadership does not give a rat’s behind about the troops and in the weeks ahead, their true rationale will become obvious.
It may turn out to be in the months ahead, but you will certainly see that this was part of a devious plot to make the President and Republicans look bad in preparation for next years presidential race. Mark my word.
