An accused child molester skips town, cuts his electronic monitoring band to appear on the Jerry Springer show. The Springer show, with its daily display of the worst of American culture, is a popular culture centerpiece for liberals everywhere.
Mario Sim, who was facing charges of first degree sexual assault of a minor, decided it was more important to appear on the show than obey the courts orders. How could any liberal resist the allure of one of liberal America’s primary pop culture symbols?
As if Mr. Sim’s story isn’t illustrative enough of the modern American liberal, we have this story about the extreme left. It seems that the Fox News Network was willing to co-sponsor a debate of Democratic presidential candidates that was put together by the Nevada Democratic Party. This shouldn’t seem too odd to those who watch Fox regularly, since the network normally presents both sides of a viewpoint and has left-wing guests on shows all the time.
But here in lies the rub……………the extreme left has hijacked the Democratic Party…….and they believe in only a myopic view of any issue or ideological disagreement.
According to an editorial in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, ‘the socialist, Web-addicted wing of the Democratic Party was apoplectic. The prospect of having to watch Fox News to see their own candidates would have been torture in itself. So they set the blogosphere aflame with efforts to kill the broadcast arrangement, or at least have all the candidates pull out of the event. Before Friday, the opportunistic John Edwards was the only candidate to jump on that bandwagon.’
Forget that famous left-wingers like Alan Colmes and Susan Estrich are on the Fox payroll. Forget that the current Fox and Friends webpage features a video by Democratic governor Brian Schweitzer. Forget that Hannity regularly has guests on his show from the most liberal reaches of the country, as well as liberal callers to his radio show. None of this jives with the uni-thinking, uni-opinioned, uni-minded extreme left. They are willing to cut off their noses to spite their faces.
The Review-Journal piece went on to say, ‘ The approach of outfits such as MoveOn.org is so juvenile it’s laughable. Imagine if every political organization created litmus tests for news organizations before agreeing to appear on their programming. Republicans would have boycotted PBS, CBS, NBC, ABC, National Public Radio and The Associated Press decades ago’.
Remember folks, these are the people who want to run our country with a victory in 2008. One-view ideologues who can’t stand to hear any other viewpoint in an arguement but their own. The Democratic Party has allowed these social misfits to steer the course of the party’s future, and none of it is good for America.
