One hallmark of the extreme left today is their propensity for hate and rage. The same people who once laid claim to compassion are now the furthest thing from it. Several recent examples support my position.
Recently, when VP Dick Cheney was nearly the victim of a terrorist bombing, the left publicly voiced their disappointment that he did not lose his life. When he had a blood clot in his leg, more recently, the left voiced the same hateful message hoping for the VP’s demise.
When Presidential hopeful John Edward’s announced the return of cancer in his wife and that he would still pursue his party’s nomination, there was a response by a nationally know conservative. Sean Hannity, speaking to his millions of listeners announced that conservatives should respect Mr. Edwards decision and that we should keep his wife in our prayers. This is compassion.
When White House spokesman Tony Snow was recently found to have a recurrence of cancer, and that it had spread to his liver, left wingers on the liberal Huffington Post blog wished Mr. Snow the worst, making disgusting, immature comments. This is the left in America folks.
In what seems like the lowest example of the left’s hate is an example out of California. Again, the scenario involves a conservative with cancer; in this case lung cancer. Unfortunately, the lung cancer took the life of outspoken conservative Cathy Seipp just days ago, on March 21st. She left behind a teenage daughter. This did not stop the hateful actions of a left-wing extremist hell-bent on smearing Ms. Seipp’s name.
With the rage so often displayed on the left, a liberal with a maniacal hatred for Ms. Seipp bought a domain name similar to the one she owned and attempted to disparage her and confuse her readers at the time of her death. He most certainly violated the California cyber squatting laws, but it is of little consolation to those who loved and respected Ms. Seipp.
Even in death, the left has no regard for the societal norms of respect, compassion or empathy. Much like the Islamo-facist terrorists who want all American’s dead, those on the extreme left in America want all conservatives and Republicans dead. There is little distinction between the two groups on this issue.
For doubters, one need go no further than the multitude of left-wing hate blogs that saturate cyberspace. There, you will find the vilest hate-speech, and the greatest void when it comes to compassion. It gives new meaning and authenticity to the term; compassionate conservative. For it is among conservatives that compassion is found most frequently today.
It is not just a hatred for conservatives and Republicans that is a trait of left-wingers. They save much of their hate-speech and bigotry for Christians. Using the public schools as a forum, they have turned legions of school children against Christians and have produced the largest percentage of Atheists and Agnostics amongst teens in America’s history. Once again, their blogs and on-line media outlets are replete with anti-Christian propaganda.
Is this America’s future? Will the left expand their grip on American thought and perceptions and turn our country into a society of hate and intolerance? It is looking that way. With the help and aid of the public schools, main-stream media, web saturation and Hollywood, the lefts hatred for all who disagree with them is pervasive.
Few seem willing to point out the hypocrisy and peril in their message.
