Whats in this book is outside this book

I find it interesting, to say the least, that Ann Coulter's newest book, Godless, the church of liberalism, is currently number one on the NY Times bestsellers list. To read everything written in my local newspapers, to watch the morning national news programs or to walk in any bookstore and see the dozens of liberal books on display, it would seem that conservatism is on its proverbial deathbed.  What gives?

Frequently, I review Wikipedia, as part of my research for writing postings.  Wikipedia has a neutrality approach that they try to maintain, so that definitions and historical facts do not become clouded with ideological opinion.  It is supposed to be an on-line dictionary/encyclopedia of sorts, and thus should be facts driven and not biased in any way.

When you look up Ann Coulter in Wikipedia though, you get something entirely biased.  The intro and bio info is pretty straightforward and unbiased, but after that, it is all downhill. Not only is the information taken out of context and shamelessly biased, but it is a total slam of Coulter, misrepresenting her opinion and statements on a number of occasions.  The very things she rails against are in stark, depressing view, even in what should be a neutral forum of facts.  The extremists on the left, who control so much on-line, have polluted what was once a source of concise information.

Ms. Coulter says what a lot of people would like to say. You can parse and dissect her comments from here to eternity, but her tough talk is filled with factual information, and in America in 2006, people who dare engage in factual talk are persona non grata.  The same criticism of Christians, conservatives or Republicans is allowed anywhere, at anytime, but when the rolls are reversed, it is hate speech, vile and prejudicial and has no place in this land.

Still, thousands of copies of her book are leaving the news stands and on-line bookstores.  Someone is buying these books, which seems to contradict everything we should expect.  How can a portion of the populace of the United States engage in such behavior?  Aren't we moving away from the extreme views of conservatives towards the more progressive, liberal views that will improve our very existence?

Funny though that the President's poll numbers remain so low.  Our economy is stellar, employment numbers are historically strong, there is a new democratic government in a country that a few years ago was ruled by a bloodthirsty tyrant.  In the Whitehouse, the office of the Presidency has been shown its due respect; no sex in the oval office with interns. Karl Rove has been shown not to have engaged in the outing of a non-covert CIA agent.  The President has made good on all campaign promises and has reduced taxes on middle-class Americans and removed all poor folks from the tax rolls.  He has increased standards in American schools and test scores have improved. He is even getting cooperation from Iran.

Funny how this is all fact, but you would be hard-pressed to find any of this in your local newspaper, newscast or bookstore? Ann's book is currently number one because there are still millions of Americans who seek truth and not hype.  They don't look for news and views through a conservative bias, but just balanced news………..something that has been sorely lacking for decades.  When you talk about balance, those on the left site Fox News as a right-wing outlet, always forgetting that the overwhelming network of left wing outlets is supposed to be the norm.

So Ann just speaks the truth.  This makes her public enemy number one.  Yet, there are enough people left in the U.S. who will buy her book because they enjoy the truth. The liberal extremists throughout America will criticize and embellish every comment she makes and call it hate speech and divisive speech, but they are offended by a truth that has languished too long dormant.

What is in this book, is outside this book.  A portion of the population who has had sole discretion to sway public opinion at their whim.  The liberal elite are now offended when truths are told about them.  An educated, scrutinizing portion of the public will still see through the media machine to purchase Ann's book and seek truth where little was formerly found.

GRAB BAG

I usually prefer actually writing and researching my own stuff, but time waits for no one, and that is the case right now.  Just too little time.

Ann Coulter's new book reaches the number 1 spot on the NY Times bestsellers list.

She was just on Jay Leno's show, and the audience must have been made up largely of folks there to see Ann.  She had thunderous applause, which normally would not be the case on that particular show.  George Carlin, who had just minutes earlier compared the President to Goofy, sat on his hands and bit his lips. I was expecting World War III.  Read about Ann's new book here.

Today was Flag Day.  Few people could capture the importance of this day like Rick Moran does.  Whether you are liberal or conservative, as an American you will really like this.

Think conservative bloggers don't dig up dirt on Republicans if theres any indication that something stinks?  see here.

From the Terrorism Unveiled blog…………..what Jordanian bloggers had to say about the death of Mr. Zarqawi. here
